Introduction of solid foods in the baby's diet


The introduction of solid foods, complementary to breastfeeding, is one of the issues that raises more doubts in parents. It is true that it is not convenient to be overwhelmed, and that it is better to let the child himself give us clues of when and how he wants to eat certain foods, but generally it helps a lot to have one baby diet recommendation guide.

It is important to know that during the first 6 months of life babies only need breast milk or artificial milk to meet all their nutritional needs.

- Around 4 months
Although it is not strictly necessary, in many cases gluten-free cereals are introduced around 4 months in the event that breastfeeding is artificial (if the child takes only breast milk, it would not be necessary or perhaps with breast milk expressed with breast pumps).

- Around 5 months
Towards 5 months of age, they are usually introduced (not strictly necessary) fruit porridges (pear, banana, apple with or without orange juice). - From 8 to 12 months

- At 9 months
At 9 months, the yolk, usually cooked, starting little by little, and no more than 3 a week. The egg white is usually introduced from 12 months of age. The fish could be given from 9 months, but with great care for the bones.
